Funding tiers

Understand your
funding entitlement.

ELCAS covers up to 80% of the approved course fee, including VAT. Your entitlement depends on your qualifying service.

Lower tier

£1,000

per claim · up to 3 claims

4 to 7 years qualifying service. Minimum 6 years if service completed after 1 April 2017.

Aggregated lower

£3,000

single consolidated award

6 or more years, left on or after 1 April 2016. A one-off award in place of three separate claims.

Application process

From funding to
first day.

We’ll support you at every stage. Here’s the route from eligibility to enrolment.

Check your eligibility

Confirm your ELC scheme membership, eligible service type and post-service window.

Speak to Educate2Trade

We provide your course title, code, fee, provider information and a suitable start date.

03

Access the ELCAS Members Area

Review your remaining claims, funding tier and entitlement expiry date.

04

Submit your claim

Search for Educate2Trade in the ELCAS portal and apply at least 25 working days before you start.

05

Send us your CAN

Once ELCAS approves your claim, share the Claim Authorisation Note with us before the course begins.

06

Pay your contribution

ELCAS funds up to 80%. We invoice the remaining learner contribution directly, with flexible payment options.

07

Start your programme

When your CAN and contribution are received, we confirm your place and you can begin.
